Simply Yummy! : Kopi Ping Cafe @ Damai

While we are always searching for glamorous, swanky and new places to dine in,
it's always good to know that the most satisfying food experiences with friends and family can still be found in humbly and honest cafes like Kopi Ping Cafe.

Wondered why this cafe is called Kopi Ping?
Order for a glass of Kopi ping here and you'll understand why
they are famous for their freshly brewed Borneo coffee.

Located in the busiest and most happening part of Damai,
this cafe is no stranger to the people of Kota Kinabalu, Sabah.

with the front of the cafe looking like this, you just can't miss it.
Clean, comfortable and relaxing place to enjoy good food with good friends.

Leaf Noodle  - RM2.00
Rating : 3 out of 5 stars
I'm not a fan of thick yellow noodles but this dish definitely surprised me! There was no sticky feeling and had none of the usual chemical smell that thick yellow noodles would leave in the mouth! Fried but not too oily, I loved the idea of the noodles being served on a huge leaf which made Chloe and i curiously peel a part of it to try identifying the smell. Hmmm.. the tiniest tinge of lemongrass fragrance.

Fish Sauce Mee Hoon Seafood - RM8
Rating : 4.5 out of 5 stars

The dish arrived and the first thing i noticed about it wasn't only the generous amount of seafood and vegetables but also, the smell was so good! My first mouthful and i was a very happy customer. Noodles weren't soggy, the seafood was fresh, it has yummy fried egg bits and a light peppery aftertaste.

BBQ Chicken Rice - RM8.50
Rating : 4 out of 5 Stars

First class chicken rice, i must say!
Marinated, barbecued and served in a huge portion,
you won't be disappointed with this one!
Juicy, tender and.... it's going to be a "oh-i-love-chicken"  moment!

Roasted Wings - RM4.40 for 2 pieces
Rating : 5 out of 5 stars

Who wouldn't love this?!
Here in Kopi Ping Cafe, they roast these wings with their very own secret sauce!
Sweet, tangy and juicy,  I ate 2 pieces on my own!

Dry Fried Hor Fun Beef  - RM8.00
Rating : 5 out of 5 stars

This is amazing char-kuey-tiaw!
I'm in love with this! Eat this while it's hot!
Lots of beef, green peppers and eggs, it's an explosion of feel-good flavors in your mouth!

Soda Lime - RM2.00
Rating : 4 out of 5 Stars

Great when you need a zesty drink to lift your mood.
No coloring and no preservatives! YAY!

Yong Tauhu - RM1.50
Rating : 3 out of 5 stars

I love the fact that they handmade the meat patties in the taufu!

Tom Yam Mee Hoon - RM7.50
Rating : 4 out of 5 stars

Don't play-play! This pungent bowl of spicy soup brought tears to my eyes, but I still wanted more! My mouth is watering right now as i remember the taste of the soup. Must try for Tom Yam fans!

Cold Red Bean Milk - RM3.00
Ratings : 5 out of 5 stars

We accidentally gave it one stir and started screaming
as we realize we have not taken a pic of this delicious drink!
Milk is added to the already yummy red bean drink, it's healthy and satisfying on a hot day.

Waffle Ice Cream - RM4.00
Rating : 4.5 out of 5 stars

If I wasn't so stuffed from all the delicious dishes in Kopi Ping before this darling came along.
I'm pretty sure this would have been all mine! The waffle was crispy on the outside and spongey on the inside. Vanilla ice cream on top made it just so heavenly. Simple but sinfully good.

I had a really good time with Margaret and my darlings Bev, MeiTzeu and Chloe,
an amazing meal thanks to Mr Dean and Ms Connie of Kopi Ping Cafe!

A heartfelt thank you to the very friendly Mr Dean who made all of us feel right at home instantly and congratulations on a job very well done at the cafe!
Thank you Ms Connie, the pretty owner that was present on that day !
