Movie Review : The Dark Knight Rises

Sad to say, I would only give this movie a 3.5 out of 5 stars.
I kinda expected this movie to be a 4.5 or a 5 star movie. le sigh. 

Christian Bale isnt hot anymore in this movie. But thank goodness, Anne Hathaway is absolutely gorgeous. Sexy lips and that hot body. Kinda balances it all out.

The movie was a tad too long winded, i thought it would never end! It's nearly 3 hours! I kept thinking : "How is this movie gonna end? Isn't supposed to be ending soon? now? "

There were scenes in this movie where the family butler Alfred was touching, but just not touching enough. Like, you wanted to tear up, but it just didnt quite make it. Abit potong steam lor.

The movie didnt really show how the hell Batman fell for Miranda Tate! I just cant accept it, you dont sleep with someone who joins you to break into YOUR OWN house! pfffft....

Morgan Freeman as the business manager of Wayne Enterprises managed to convince me that the movie might not be too bad. He still reminds me of God after watching Bruce Almighty.

 That super awesome bike that Batman allows Catwoman to use... is droolworthy. The minute i saw it, I wanted it! Accidentally squeaked out loud to my boyfriend : "OMG I WANT THAT!"  He gave me the 'r-u-ok?' stare.  oops.

Am i weird to think that the overtly optimistic policeman is actually irritating?  I might be the only one.. oh well.

Bane, who is the villain didnt seem scary or intimadating enough lor. Has huge muscles and ... a halloween mask that alters his voice. hmmm... found that abit boring.

But.... i liked the twist at the end of the movie. Shall not spoil it for those who have yet to watch this movie! It definitely saved this movie for me, or else it would have been completely forgettable.

The Lion King in 3D - Remembering my younger days.

There is something just so magical 

about Disney cartoon movies back in the 90's.

All you late 1980+ babies would definitely agree with me.

I mean,

seriously, cartoons like CARS and the Smurfs.
Pfft! Utter rubbish. i cant help but
feel i wasted my time and money watching it. 
Sorry if this is offensive, just my opinion.
Deal with it.

I dont feel the same emotional depth or relativity as the classics,

such as Disney's The Lion King, Pocahontas, Beauty & the Beast...etc

Just goes to show that,
movies now are just all down to marketing and manipulation.

While this movie definitely did not need 3D,

Disney was definitely trying to use a small amount of

manipulative exploitation to bring paying parents back with their kids

merely because of the 3D-technology craze.

I definitely teared up  when Mufasa died.

Gawd... the movie made me miss the good old days 

of being sucha kid about wanting to be Nala! 

hahaha! So embarrassing!

If you've not watched The Lion King before,
you'll definitely love it.

If you've watched it as a kid,
What are you waiting for?

Movie Review : Transformers 3 - Dark of the Moon

My excitement for the movie wasn't wasted at all! 

MICHAEL BAY i love you!

working his magic is the great Michael Bay himself!

i don't really wanna spoil the movie for anyone 

so there wont be much revealed.

but honestly, 

 this movie is a 4.5 out of 5 stars.

u might be goin HUH!?

Rosie Huntington and Patrick Dempsey

Patrick Dempsey in this movie wont be the hearthrob charming doctor
as he was in Grey's Anatomy on TV.

In fact, you'll be greatly surprised how significant his role is!
Even though he is the playboy car racer who tries to woo
the Bratz-barbie-doll lookalike lingerie model Rosie Huntington.

Which my guess was right!

Rosie cannot act for shyt. 
Just like how Justin Bieber could not act on CSI.
Throughout the whole movie,
she was just the pretty face that can run for hours in her high heels.
 either her heels are made of steel or her tolerance to pain is pretty damn high.

And the only emotion she can pull off is SMILE.
Manipulative? No.
my pet dog could have done better.

the usual victim of Decepticon bully case

Shia returns once again as the star of the movie.
Noticed how it always starts off with him being victimized
and he has to run like, 10 miles before he gets any action?
just saying.

i love this character.
slightly dorky but oh-so-lovable.
after graduating college, Sam Witwicky has problems finding a job.
definitely something the younger generation can relate to,
right after complaining, he gets the most perfect job in the world.

he gets to be HIMSELF.
which is fighting alongside the Autobots against the Decepticons.

oh! u gotta love the part where he yells at Bumblebee
and how he screams like girl during a car chase!
i choked while laughing.

not to reveal too much, as usual i'm on team-autobots!

like what Tyrese says in the movie
" why do the Decepticons always get the good shyt?! "

 i find the lack of affection and communication 

between Optimus Prime and Sam Witwicky abit upsetting. 

the only one sentence of significance was exchanged. 

Optimus Prime : 

"...You may lose faith in us, but never in yourself..."

i like how the twisted it was that ... 

wait! i'm not supposed to tell you.

or i suspect some of you might start sending hate mail

for spoiling the movie for you guys. 

argh. ok. 

so there is a rather surprising villain in this  movie.

REAAAALLY surprising.

like, you would not have suspected that person to be the villain. 

oh no, there are two unsuspected villains :) 

Anyway, to be precise and avoid going off topic again.

it was a great movie. 

The guys would love it thanks to the fanstastic action,

not forgetting Rosie is pleasing on the eyes thanks to her ass assets. 

The 'love' between Shia and Carly cant be felt. 

Its as thought he's taking care of a good friend 

whom he gets to kiss from time to time <--not bad!

gawd. you wouldn't be uber surprised. 

1. How the hell is Megan Fox gonna be replaced?  I'm thinking the story might go like, Mikaela broke up with SamWitwicky that caused him to end up with Victoria Secret's bikini angel Rosie Huntington Whiteley. I admit, she is super hawt, but the cutesy type. Unlike superfirelaserburninghawt Megan Fox. Definitely something I'm gonna be watching out for.
2. What information can the humans hide from Optimus Prime and clan? Aren't they like super smart? And they can dig information via satellite or something, like how they did in the first movie? 
3. There is no way that humans can beat Decepticons all by themselves! WTF! I kinda assume that Optimus Prime and clan might feel sympathetic and come back to save them all. They can't leave us! You guys fought so much for us in the last two movies to give up now! 
4. Is the movie time abit too long? 2 and a half hours long! O,O oh man... i'm gonna wear pyjama pants and bring extra cushion for my soon-to-be-flat bum!
 

 

here's to hoping that Michael Bay can impress all of us 

with this latest installment. 

PLEASE NO DISAPPOINTMENTS!

Movie Review : X-Men - First Class

I'm a HUUUUUUGE fan of Superman, 

but i gotta say this prequel makes me wanna be a loyal fan to the X-Men.

I mean, seriously think about it - 

how can it be so unfair that Superman has so many different powers 

and ONLY have one weakness. 

UNFAIR i tell you! So, i'm jumping ship! 

I'm going to hold hands with Professor Charles Xavier (Professor X) 

and join the good side of Mutant Mania!!! 

*Insert middle finger motion towards Magneto*

SUPER SPOILER ALERT! 

don't read beyond this if you don't want me to tell u juicy details.

So the story begins in World War II, 

where Erik (young Magneto) was separated from his family by the Nazis.

In his desperate attempt to stay with his mother, 

Erik uses his then-feeble powers unconsciously 

trying to open the gates of the war camp. 

A doctor in the war camp, known as Shaw then forces Erik 

to use his power to move a coin at the count of three, 

or his mother dies. 

Sadly the mother does die at the first gun shot. :'( 

Obviously, if someone had shot your mom 

and you could have done something to prevent it, 

you'd be pretty damn angry. 

Thus, a very devastated/enraged/revenge-hungry Erik was born. 

He was able to completely trash a roomful of torture equipments with his mind,

and maintain a single note of mad screaming at the same time upon seeing his dead mother.

And Charles Xavier was a handsome 

and extremely smoooooth talker that could chat up any girl. 

Since a child, he had taken Raven (Mystique) as his little sister 

to live in his mansion after catching her stealing food in his kitchen. 

She transformed herself to look like his mother. Bad choice. 

Got caught cuz she said she'd make hot chocolate for Charles, 

when his mother would never had done that. 

must watch CUTE KITCHEN SCENE! 

Charles Xavier and Erik becoming best buddies

Charles then unites with CIA agent Moira to convince the big bosses of the CIA 

but fails, so in the end teams up with the very angry Erik

to recruit little mutants like Angel, Darwin, Beast, Banshee 

and my favourite - HAVOC!

Havoc played by Lucas Till

 Aww come on, girls! I don't see why not! 

He's an absolute eye candy!  

Check him out as he gets suited up

for his first mission, absolutely gorgeous!

Guys, don't roll your eyes! You can pick between 

Raunchy Angel or Haughty Frost.

Obviously it is a good versus evil movie,

but with not much of an ending because

i sense a sequel to this prequel. 

Ohmygod! 

Say : "Sequel to this prequel" a few times!

you'll end up rapping like Snoop Dogg!

To me it's a 4.5 outta 5 stars.

i just don't like how they didn't explain

how or when the other lil mutants discovered their powers. 

but then again, that might be saved for the next movie, i guess :) 

Movie Review : Pirates Of the Carribean - "On Stranger's Tide"

Even without Orlando Bloom and Keira Knightley, 

this movie still manages to impress and leave movie goers uber happy. 

I love the songs and the effects. 

For a CrackBerry ( BlackBerry addict) like me, i actually was so into the movie, 

i didnt check my phone at all until the end! THAT GOOD!

For me, 
the Pirates of the Carribean : On Stranger Tide 
rates a fantastical

4.5 outta 5 stars

Cuz i assume they killed off my bible-toting hunk Philip, 

so i'm left hanging on that one.

I was abit bummed when i realized Orlando Bloom wasn't in this installment, 

but heck, my heart is still with Johnny Depp. hehe!

Can u believe she grew up in her mom's hair saloon? :) no wonder she has awesome hair. in this movie she proves herself an extremely skilled swordslady, and shows a tender side as well as mysterious side that wasnt seen as much in previous installments.

Gemma Ward

An Australian Model and Actress, beautiful baby-doll like features. She pulled off the part of a mermaid fantastically. I squeaked when she first appeared on screen, i always loved her on the runways of Vera Wang and Klein! And goodness, she can sing! -hearts-

Astrid Berges-Frisbey & Sam Claflin 
Philip, the bible toting hunk of a missionary! i swear he's a hottie with sucha heart of gold! You would giggle when he speaks for the first time cuz you don't hear that kinda talk unless you're in an English missionary school. but gawd, sucha hottie! and the French actress, she reli looks the type that guy would fall for or protect wif their lives, no? :3

this movie is at par with Fast and Furious 5, 

some of u might scream : "HELL NO!" 
WAIT! hear me out, Fast 5 and Pirates is of different genres, i know.
but if i had to choose, it'll be really hard. 

both movies were super nice. Thor as well. 

Dayum, good year for movies eh? 
CANT WAIT FOR TRANSFORMERS!
then the movie freak in me will be happy!!! 

i'm trying to be super optimistic that this movie is gonna rawk without Megan Fox. 

but based on the trailers, the new girl Rosie Huntington Whiteley, a Victoria Secret's Angel/Model... well, she isn't a actress so 

let's hope she has more talent than modeling underwear. 

Here's to hoping we all will be happy wif the new addition of the Transformer human cast, and i feel sad that it looks like Optimus Prime wont be around to help when Megatron destroys the world. :(

i gotta admit, this movie was pretty good! 

OMG! U HAVE TO WATCH IT IN 3-D!

And you know what's the most awesome thing about this movie? 

When i heard Metroman(the Elvis Presley lookalike) speak for the first time,

i didn't know it was Brad Pitt! 

I just thought to myself : 

"omg...he sounds absolutely sexxxy but corny at the same time!"  

does that make any sense?! 

The movie started off pretty well, cuz i'm so used to being so bored in the beginning of most movies. But nooooooo, this movie trapped me in a childish trance of watching Disney cartoons! 

just like when we were lil kids watching Pocahontas or Lion King! 

Sitting there not moving an inch, mouth slightly open, drooling, eyes wide open, not blinking unless we absolutely neeeeeed to....

BACK TO THIS MOVIE CALLED MEGAMIND.

its just hilarious. fantastic lines. amazing colors. great plot. i love it.

i have never watched soooo many movies in a month!

 

like seriously, i used to only watch movies once or twice a month. 

yes, in ONE month.haha! 

not that i do not enjoy movies, if the movie is really good, then i wud be smiling and all but if it sucks, i guess i've not only wasted the ka-chings but also 2 hours of my life. 

but gawd, 3D movies are reli a waste of time. especially if its in KK. le sigh.
