Movie Review : The Dark Knight Rises

Sad to say, I would only give this movie a 3.5 out of 5 stars.
I kinda expected this movie to be a 4.5 or a 5 star movie. le sigh.

Christian Bale isnt hot anymore in this movie. But thank goodness, Anne Hathaway is absolutely gorgeous. Sexy lips and that hot body. Kinda balances it all out.

The movie was a tad too long winded, i thought it would never end! It's nearly 3 hours! I kept thinking : "How is this movie gonna end? Isn't supposed to be ending soon? now? "

There were scenes in this movie where the family butler Alfred was touching, but just not touching enough. Like, you wanted to tear up, but it just didnt quite make it. Abit potong steam lor.

The movie didnt really show how the hell Batman fell for Miranda Tate! I just cant accept it, you dont sleep with someone who joins you to break into YOUR OWN house! pfffft....

Morgan Freeman as the business manager of Wayne Enterprises managed to convince me that the movie might not be too bad. He still reminds me of God after watching Bruce Almighty.

That super awesome bike that Batman allows Catwoman to use... is droolworthy. The minute i saw it, I wanted it! Accidentally squeaked out loud to my boyfriend : "OMG I WANT THAT!"  He gave me the 'r-u-ok?' stare.  oops.

Am i weird to think that the overtly optimistic policeman is actually irritating?  I might be the only one.. oh well.

Bane, who is the villain didnt seem scary or intimadating enough lor. Has huge muscles and ... a halloween mask that alters his voice. hmmm... found that abit boring.

But.... i liked the twist at the end of the movie. Shall not spoil it for those who have yet to watch this movie! It definitely saved this movie for me, or else it would have been completely forgettable.

Sabah International Folklore Festival SIFF 2012

My first time attending this festival and ...
I'm actually really impressed!
For those of you who don't know me,
I'm abit hard to please.

Heavy rain and a massive traffic jam
certainly did not discourage the enthusiastic crowd
from attending the 7th Sabah International Folklore Festival 2012.

The performance was captivating from the very beginning.
18 countries coming together in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah
to perform their traditional dances.

Always wrathed in smiles,
the performers seem to radiate confidence and absolute pride
in their cultural dance.
I was instantly infected by their enthusiasm
and had to constantly tell myself to stop smiling and bobbing my head,
"oi. I'm here to take pictures la!"

The colorful and striking traditional attire
of the many different countries are always fascinating.
And it's just alot more attention grabbing when it's worn by a hottie.
*naughty smile*

Brunei

Finland

Finland

Indonesia

Korea

Timor Leste

Timor Leste

Kuwait

Kuwait

Taiwan

Taiwan
Land Below The Wind

One Malaysia dance troop

Nigeria

the Philippines

Czech Republic

Papua New Guinea
I enjoyed myself tremendously.
The crowd was obviously enjoying it alot as well
as they clapped their hands to the beat of the music.
I'm sure the performers felt appreciated and danced the best they could.

Being able to witness 18 different countries' cultural dances in one night
is an amazing and truly rare opportunity.
One that i appreciate and wont forget.

All in all, i must say,
the night at the Sabah International Folklore Festival 2012
was a major success.

Let's go together next year, pretty please?
I wanted to take pictures with the handsome 'angmohs'!
*sobs*

Heartfelt thanks to Breeze magazine for the Media Entry invite!

Foodie's Heaven : KL Style BBQ & Steamboat Restaurant

I'm soooo jealous of some of my friends that can eat a truckload of food
during a meal and not gain a single kilogram.

The worst part is when you're feeling incredibly full
(more like crazy worried about how much weight you'll gain tomorrow)
and that person decides to say :
"I'm still hungry la! Jom one more round! "

I'm pretty sure you guys would realise that RM25 isnt going to be enough
to feed that alien pig friend in a normal restaurant.

If you were in a seafood restaurant,
RM25 would probably only pay for the prawns and the steamed fish.

But what if you ONLY had RM25
and you were so hungry that you'd eat an entire cow?

Welcome to the amazing KL Style BBQ & Steamboat restaurant!

located  at Lot No. 12, Ground Floor, Damas 118 Plaza, Penampang, Sabah.
Across the highway, directly opposite KFC, Millennium Plaza

pic credits to Tom :) cuz his photos just look loads better than mine!

RM25 is all you have to pay
for a night of unlimited supply of fresh seafood,
meats of all kinds, vegetables, noodles, Nestle drinks,
Nestle ice-cream, and a whole lot of fun! :)

If you have a lot of children,
or a child that eats a lot,
then this is the perfect place to makan!
It's only RM10 for children under the age of 12!

Let your kids eat all the ice cream they want,
only after their vegetables of course ;)

It's FREE !
if your kid is below the age of 4.

You'll have a choice of sitting inside the restaurant which is air conditioned,
or enjoy the cool night air outside.

Another plus of sitting outside is you get your very own BBQ plate!

If you sit inside, you'll only be able to BBQ outside at the major huge BBQ pit,
which is crazy fun.

LOADS of choices! Hashbrowns, meatballs, fish paste, sausages...etc

They even have ready cooked meals and vegetables for the uber hungry!

Bring your Muslim friends too!
I always have a headache
when my Muslim family friends or work-related friends
decide to have dinner with me.,
not that I'm not friendly or plain lazy,
but i find it so hard to think of places to eat.

So this kinda solves all my problems! teehee!

Pot has two compartments. Choose from either chicken or tom yam soup! Yums!

Meitzeu checking out our soup!

i love seafood! <3

"MORE FOOD!"
Nath with her hash browns! -drools-

Tom with awesome ABC made by the boss!
"Y U TAKE MINE!?"
I must say,
nothing makes friendship stronger than having a great meal together.

Pretty happy with the wide range of food, drinks and desserts.
The clean and homely feel of the place.
And the genuinely helpful and friendly owners.

I do not write about food or restaurants much UNLESS
it's good and above average, definitely something special :)

VERDICT
I love this spot. Value for money, good place to try out your cooking skills
and be creative while having fun with family & friends.

*thumbs up* bloggers with the owners
